On 26th of November 2015 thanks to the Diplomatic Academy in Prague, there was a discussion about Thailand, diplomacy and the life of a diplomat at the Thai Embassy in Prague with former the Foreign Minister in the Czech Republic (2002-2006) JuDr. Svoboda and Thai Ambassador HE Mr. Narong Sasitorn.
It is not a daily occurrence to visit the embassy, but thanks to the Diplomatic Academy in Prague the participants had this opportinity. The discussion was very interesting. The main dialogue took place between Mr. JuDr. Svoboda and Thai Ambassador HE Mr. Narong Sasitorn. They were having a discussion about diplomatic relations between the Czech Republic and the Kingdom of Thailand. The participants had the opportunity to get involved in the discussions. The whole debate was in English.
Firstly, HE Mr. Narong Sasitorn talked about his professional beginnings in Thailand. He said, what it entails to be a diplomat and compared the relations between Asia and Europe, and more specifically the relations between Thailand and the Czech Republic. During the discussions participants learnt a lot of interesting information about the politics and economics of Thailand. For example, did you know that the Kingdom of Thailand is Asia’s second largest economy after China?
Another event (December 3rd, 2015) the Diplomatic Academy in Prague is going to prepare is a discussion with the Republic of Slovenia in practical diplomacy and migration. Participants will have another chance to visit the Slovenian Embassy in Prague, and most importantly, to talk about this issue directly with the Slovenian ambassador Mr. He Leon Marc.
